Preparation method for homemade bread
- 1 Prepare the yeast mixture: In a small bowl, combine yeast, sugar, and 100 ml of lukewarm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foam forms.
- 2 Make the dough: In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the prepared yeast mixture, the remaining water (250 ml), and olive oil. Stir until all ingredients are combined into a smooth dough. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until it becomes elastic.
- 3 Let the dough rise: Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, until it doubles in size.
- 4 Shape the bread: After rising, briefly knead the dough and shape it into the desired form. Place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- 5 Let the bread rise again: Cover the dough with a towel and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- 6 Preheat the oven: Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 175-200 °C.
- 7 Bake the bread: Place the bread in the preheated oven and bake for about one and a half to two hours, until the crust is golden and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
- 8 Cool the bread: Finally, let the bread cool on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy your freshly baked homemade bread!
